The Archaeology Centre (#1-1730 Quebec Avenue) will be closed from
June 28th to July 15th, 2017.
We will reopen for regular office hours at 9:00 am on Monday, July 17th, 2017!
Even though we’re not in the office, you can still register for events, field schools, the bus tour, etc. by phoning us (306-664-4124) or by emailing us.
Don’t forget that July 20th, is the deadline to pre-register for the fall bus tour to Riding Mountain National Park!! We need to have at least 20 people registered by this date for the bus tour to go ahead.
Humboldt Telegraph Station Public Field School
There’s still time to join us this summer doing archaeological work! There will be a public excavation field school at the Telegraph Station of the Original Humboldt Site from July 24th to 28th. If you are interested in attending, please contact Jean Price at the Humboldt & District Museum (306-682-5226) to sign up. There is no fee associated with this year’s field school and no experience necessary! All equipment and instruction will be provided.
Summer Swamp Walk
Save the Date: Saturday, August 26th, 2017!
Hosted by Sandra Walker, this workshop includes a walk-about the Condie Nature Refuge located northwest of Regina, SK. Participants will have the opportunity to view some of the local native plants, taste food samples, and receive a colour plant identification guide.
We will be walking outside for part of the afternoon, so bring comfortable shoes and weather appropriate attire, plus bug spray and sunscreen. This workshop is weather-dependent. See our workshops page for more information and to register.
