The Archaeology Centre (1-1730 Quebec Avenue) is open Monday to Thursday by appointment only. If you would like to stop by, please email or call ahead (306-664-4124) to set up an appointment with a staff member. Visitors will be required to wear masks in the office. Disposable masks are available in the office. All staff are also available via email Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.
The SAS office will be closed January 1-3, 2021.. We will be open with regular hours beginning Monday January 4 at 9 am.

All Points Saskatchewan Archaeological Society: APSAS is selling a pandemic cookbook!
Archaeology and Anthropology Students’ Association: The AASA is having a book sale! Check out this list of books that they have available. Books are first-come, first-served and by donation. Pickup is available in Saskatoon or Three Hills, Alberta. Shipping is available with the cost to be paid by the purchaser. Please contact the AASA for further information, to determine pickup/drop-off/shipping, and to purchase books!
Prince Albert Historical Society: The Historical Museum will continue to be open Monday to Friday (covid-dependent) commencing January 4. Preparations will be underway for free family programming offered in the afternoons during Family Day week (February 15-19) – stay tuned for more details!
Regina Archaeological Society: The RAS, in partnership with APSAS, will be meeting on January 19th at 7:30 pm for a presentation from Hugh Henry presenting “The NWMP March West Through Saskatchewan”. Hugh is president and SAS chapter representative of the (Swift Current) SW Archaeological Society. Before retirement he was the Director and Curator of the Swift Current museum. Hugh has been on the Board of the Saskatchewan History & Folklore Society (SHFS) for nine years and is the current president. His work with SHFS includes the documentation and maintenance of over 200 historic markers between Wood Mountain and Fort Walsh, identifying the trail used by NWMP patrols for over three decades. Saskatoon Archaeological Society: The Saskatoon Chapter presents Dr. Robert Losey (University of Alberta) speaking on “The Archaeology of Dogs: From Alberta to the Siberian Arctic”. Dr. Robert Losey is a Professor, University of Alberta, where he has taught for the past 15 years. Dr. Losey has led several research endeavors on the archaeology of ancient dogs, including an on-going project on the long-term history of dog sledding in the western Arctic of North America. His other interests include zooarchaeology, human-animal relations in past, reindeer domestication, and archaeological imagery. Dr. Losey has published several books and numerous articles, most of which focus on dogs and other animals among societies in Siberia. Join this online Zoom presentation on January 21st at 7:00 pm.
