Archaeology and Anthropology Students’ Association: The AASA is having a book sale! Check out this list of books that they have available. Books are first-come, first-served and by donation. Pickup is available in Saskatoon or Three Hills, Alberta. Shipping is available with the cost to be paid by the purchaser. Please contact the AASA for further information, to determine pickup/drop-off/shipping, and to purchase books!
Prince Albert Historical Society: In addition to our regular hours (9 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week), starting June 10th the Historical Museum will be open until 8 pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Downtown walking tours will be offered again this year! They will run Sundays and Thursdays at 11am and 2pm and leave from the Historical Museum, tours are approximately 1.5 hours. Pre-booking is encouraged by calling the Historical Museum (306-764-2992). Participation will be limited to 5 people or 1 family bubble. Tours start May 30th. June 19th: The Historical Museum is participating in PADBID’s sidewalk sale. June 12th is also the first free family programming event. This is sponsored by the City of PA Community Grant Program and will provide free tours and programming aimed at newcomer and lower-income families. The program will run from 1-4.
SAS Field School at Fort Carlton
We are anticipating some limited public participation at our ongoing excavations at Fort Carlton Provincial Park this summer. If you are interested in joining us on site in July or August, please contact us to be put on the list. Space requirements will be determined based on up-to-date health regulations. The SAS will contact participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

The University of Saskatchewan’s Department of Archaeology & Anthropology field school is on-site for most of June. Check out our social media accounts to see pictures of the excavation or stop by and visit the field school once the Provincial Park opens on June 5!
Great Canadian Giving Challenge
Donate to our “Point Us in the Right Direction Book Production Campaign” through the month of June, where the SAS can earn chances to win an additional $20,000 through the Great Canadian Giving Challenge! Every dollar equals one entry. We’re raising funds to publish “Saskatchewan Projectile Points: An Indigenous Perspective and Guidebook” (working title). Donors giving $100 or more will receive a free copy of the book; all donors will be acknowledged inside the book.

This comprehensive guidebook will describe:

• Indigenous perspectives on artistry of points; extensive knowledge system of stone material properties and animals hunted; connection to land
• current legislation and regulations governing archaeological heritage, and importance of responsible and respectful stewardship
