Membership

Membership

Membership in the SAS is open to anyone who pays the membership fees and agrees to our purpose and values. This includes acting as responsible stewards of Saskatchewan’s rich archaeological heritage, which dates back over 10,000 years. You do not have to know anything about archaeology or its methods to join the Society and to support its work.

Membership is on a calendar year basis, and includes a subscription to Saskatchewan Archaeology Quarterly, and other privileges such as use of the Society’s lending library, educational resources, Archaeokits, and access to special events. Individual, student, and senior memberships come with voting privileges, and a family membership includes voting privileges for 2 members.

Benefits of Membership:

Your paid membership with the SAS includes these valuable benefits and services:
  • Saskatchewan Archaeology Quarterly which presents the results of current research in Saskatchewan archaeology.
  • Reduced registration rates for many of our yearly events and activities including workshops, presentations, and the Annual Gathering.
  • Voting privileges at our Annual General Meeting.
  • Ability to serve on the SAS board as an elected member (for those over 18).
  • Placement on our contact list to receive all regular and special mail-outs on books and merchandise available from our Store, volunteer opportunities, and special events.
  • Access to our extensive library holdings which include books, reports, manuscripts, and journals.
  • Access to teaching aids such as artifact replicas, Archaeokits, and ArchaeoCaravan activities.
  • The opportunity to support archaeological stewardship.

  • Being part of a network that can provide assistance and resources in the identification and stewardship of archaeological artifacts, collections, and sites.

Membership Categories & Rates:

All costs are in Canadian dollars.

The SAS offers two options to receive the Quarterly! Choose the “Print” option to receive a printed copy of Saskatchewan Archaeology Quarterly in the mail or save $5 off your membership by choosing the “Green” option to receive a PDF copy to your inbox.
