Programs

Annual Gathering

The Annual Gathering, usually held in April brings together the SAS membership along with the local community, other heritage practioners, and the general public to share and learn from each other. This two to three day event is normally a mix of presentations, demonstrations/workshops, social activities, and tours.

2024 Annual Gathering

This year the 56th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Archaeological Association hosted by the SAS and the Department of Anthropology, University of Saskatchewan was held in lieu of the Annual Gathering.

2023 Annual Gathering - 60th Annual Gathering!

A joint Annual Gathering with the Bodo Archaeological Society and the Archaeological Society of Alberta was in Bodo, AB from April 27-30, 2022. A reception was held at the Provost & District Museum on Thursday night, drawing and sash making workshops were held Friday evening, two full days of presentations occurred Friday and Saturday, and a tour to the Treaty 6 Cairn at Sounding Lake took place on Sunday. The banquet was held on Saturday evening with Dr. Tim Panas as the keynote speaker.
