Archaeological Collections Support Services
Many individuals inherit artifact collections from relatives or have gathered them independently over time. Likewise, organizations such as community museums may find themselves in possession of undocumented archaeological materials, such as projectile points, pottery, stone flakes, mauls, and hammerstones, without clear guidance on how to manage them.
Questions frequently arise about the proper identification, documentation, and care of these items.
The SAS offers professional support to both individuals and organizations through a range of collection cataloguing and advisory services.
Services Offered:
Artifact Identification
Artifact Cataloguing
Collection Interpretation
Preparation of Artifacts/Collections for Museum Accessioning
Advice on Respectful Display and Curation
