The SAS aims to offer a variety of educational opportunities for the public. Our workshops are designed for those who have a little bit of archaeology knowledge, or none at all! They provide an overview of a particular subject within the field, and often focus on archaeological sites and artifacts found in the area where the workshop is being presented.

Instructors for each of the workshops are qualified professional archaeologists or professionals from other disciplines. Typically, they will share a brief biographical summary of their training, professional history, and any specializations within their field.

Remote First Aid
Join the SAS and SAPA (Saskatchewan Association of Professional Archaeologists) for a unique 2-day (October 26 & 27) opportunity in Saskatoon! This course will take place over two 10 hour days. Lunch is not included but snacks and coffee/tea/water will be provided.
What happens when emergency services are over an hour away? More remote environments require more specialized skills, equipment, and training.

Key learning concepts include: Planning, prevention, and situational awareness, wound care, and environmental emergencies. The course will be taught outdoors, regardless of the weather, so please dress appropriately. Each participant will get their own dry bag with some first aid supplies to take home as well as all course materials. Course will be facilitated by Katie Willie through Back40 Wilderness First Aid Training.
